Dutch Fork Middle School Band - Mission Statement
It is the mission of the DFMS
band program to develop and prepare students to become creative individuals
who are respectful, responsible, caring and well-adjusted. A direct result
of the DFMS band experience is improved self-discipline, self-esteem,
confidence and group cooperation.
Band students at DFMS will
receive quality instruction based on the national and state standards for
music education. The unique educational demands of instrumental music serve
as preparation for dealing with many of the challenges people encounter all
through life. Students gain valuable life skills in addition to a lifelong
appreciation for the creative process and performance of music.
